Satisfaction from a job well done (Massimini Front Porch)

Nothing beats the feeling of a job well done. We tore off the original porch which had been repaired numerous times, each time with inferior wood, so it didn't last.

Lumber Specialties happened to be our material source for this project. We chose what they call a "pulled heart" cypress. A small outfit, they are able to pull out the best from a bundle to mill down to the flooring.

Cypress is well known for its resistance to decay and insect attack. Even more so if it's heart cypress.

We stained it with the Minwax brand of red mahogany stain then topcoated it with spar urethane on all four sides to minimize moisture penetration.

We really took our time on this project because a front porch is such an important part of a house. It's the first thing you see. Our hope is that everyone who sees our floor will see that my company, Quillian Craftsman, LLC does top quality work.
