At Home Depot today and was handed this ad creatively within a so called GREEN GUIDE. Save up to $465.00 a year with these replacement windows. Investigation revealed that these windows average $700 per unit. Twenty windows equals $14,000. Divide that by $465 and discover that it would take 30 years of savings to pay for these windows. With a $1500 tax credit it would still take over 26 years. What is green about that? Misleading more accurately describes this ad.

Can you see the paint overspray on the brick? The owners of this historic home protected this brick from being painted for years. Then some hot shot painter comes in with his spray rig and in two seconds, unknowingly sets an inferior precedent for the next person to come and paint. The next guy may well think to himself that if the last guy got away with this then so can I.

Failing paint and moisture led to this loose glazing. This sash came from a corner of the house that never sees any sun. The black part you see where the glazing is loose is not paint. It is mildew growing between the wood and the glazing
