Steve Quillian Upstairs Casement Windows Inside Shots

This former sleeping porch extends from the roof line much like a dormer would and the screened enclosure followed the slope of the roof. Wanting to maximize the window space we decided to follow the roof line up with windows.

I figured it would present a problem so I waited to build the sloping windows until the rest were in so I could isolate my workspace. It payed off because I ended up modifying the opening by lowering the sill on one end and raising it on the other. Had I built the windows to my initial measurements, they would have been wrong.

The owners plan to use this space for an office, and what an office it will be. Upstairs with a breeze, surrounded by trees and natural light, to work up here will be a delight.

During the fall, winter and spring they can work with the windows open because the screens will keep the undesirable little critters out. On hinges, the screens open and close with ease.

The room is really coming together and better than we imagined! The windows look like they've always been there. Can't wait to use the new space.

We are so pleased with the outcome and professinalism of the Quillian Craftsman team, we're starting another project to replace windows and sills that have been damaged over time from the elements.
